Herb Fritz
Mr. Fritz is a successful nurseryman owning and operating Lee Landing Nursery. Mr. Fritz is a life long learner who has devoted his retirement years to obtaining his dream of owning a farm. Mr. Fritz has served on various committees, most notably The American Airlines Safety Committee of Los Angles. Mr. Fritz has also served as volunteer with the Pamlico County Master Gardeners, the Reelsboro Fire Department, and St. Peters Catholic Church Parish Council.
Joan Kuntz
Mrs. Kuntz is a resident of Pamlico County who has been involved with Pamlico County Cooperative Extension for many years. She has been a Master Gardener Volunteer as well as a part time office secretary. Mrs. Kuntz has a passion for gardening and is evident in the immaculate landscape she maintains around her home. Mrs. Kuntz has been married for 51 years to her husband Stephen and they have three sons and one daughter.
Sandie Beal
Mrs. Sandra Beal is a current resident of Pamlico County but her family still resides within Henderson County, NC. She is a staple at the Oriental Farmers Market where she sells produce year-round. Mrs. Beal has had a great interest in horticulture for many years, which is evident by her involvement with the Blue Ridge Horticulture Association, Pamlico County Cooperative Extension, the Fletcher Research Station, and operating a nursery. Mrs. Beal is also a current Master Gardener Intern, a member of the Oriental Tree Board, member of the Oriental History Museum, and she is involved with Habitat for Humanity.
Melinda Penkava Smith
Mrs. Smith is a current Master Gardener Intern and a local organizer in the Oriental Town area. She and her husband operate TownDock.net, a local website that reflects the community and atmosphere of the Oriental Town dock. Mrs. Smith has aided Extension in organizing local residents, as well as helping to head the Oriental Farmers Market. Mrs. Smith has a great interest in locally produced foods and the marketing of locally made and crafted products. She is an avid gardener and enjoys sharing that interest with others.
Nancy Dill Miller
Mrs. Miller is a resident of Pamlico County who has been an avid gardener for many years. Her interests lie in the area of natural landscaping to encourage wildlife and teaching others about insects and wildlife. Mrs. Miller has been a past Master Gardener, but has reentered the class to continue her goal of life long learning. Mrs. Miller has an impressive home that is surrounded with numerous plantings that reflect her numerous gardening interests. She is also involved with many other groups within Pamlico County, which include the Pamlico County Cooperative Extension Office.
