NC State Industrial Hemp Field Day

Afternoon Tour: 1:30–5:30 p.m. with supper

Join us for the 3rd annual Industrial Hemp Field Day hosted at the Piedmont Research Station. There will be morning and afternoon events. If you are an attendee, please only register for one of the two time slots. The same research will be presented during both events. Researchers and graduate students will be on hand to discuss current research and production practices. The main focus will be industrial hemp for CBD production. We will also talk briefly about the seed and fiber tests on-site. Featured trials include a planting date study, variety testing, row middle management with cover crops and dead mulches, and plant nutrition testing. There will also be specialists on hand for training in pest and disease scouting.

Presentations and demonstrations from NC State University Specialists, N.C. Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services Specialists, and NC State University graduate students:

  • Open vs. Closed Bed Production Systems
  • Irrigated vs. Non-irrigated Hemp
  • Pest and Disease Scouting
  • Vendors On-site for Networking

This is an outside event and will take place regardless of the weather. If there is bad weather we will retreat to the pole barn.

Registration for the field day is FREE but RSVP is required by August 21 (may fill earlier so don’t delay).

DONATIONS AND SPONSORSHIPS ARE WELCOME. SPONSOR LOGOS WILL BE INCLUDED ON THE SPONSORSHIP BANNERS AND WILL ALSO BE PROVIDED A VENDOR SPACE. THERE ARE TWO SPONSORSHIP LEVELS TO CHOOSE FROM. YOU CAN DONATE ONLINE NOW IN SUPPORT OF INDUSTRIAL HEMP RESEARCH AND EXTENSION.

There are a limited number of vendor spaces available at a cost of $150 each for the whole day (both sessions). One table setup will be provided for each paid vendor registration or sponsorship. Vendors will be at the main pole barn at the station where meals will be served. This is an educational event. You may demonstrate products or materials at this event and exchange information with potential clients, but you may not sell products or sign contracts on-site.
