Description: Casualty Loss and Income Tax Deductions Related to Timber and Landscape Trees
Timber or landscape trees destroyed by recent fires, hurricanes or other storms are “casualty losses” that may allow the property owners to take a deduction on their federal income tax returns. To help timber owners, as well as home owners, who suffered timber or landscape tree damages with their tax reporting, this webinar will focus on the new tax law changes that Congress passed in 2017 that affect the casualty loss deductions starting in the 2018 tax year.

The 4-H Public Speaking Program allows youth opportunities to develop these important life skills, and to practice in a fun, positive environment. We will meet twice a month working on speech writing, oration, articulation, and presenting speeches before an audience. Participants will research, write, and present their own presentations, create slides, and present at County Activity Day on May 18th, before going on to the South East District Activity Day Presentation Competition.

Who can participate?

The program is open to all, youth ages 9 - 18 will create a 5 - 12 minute presentation for the competition, and youth age 5 - 8 can also participate by presenting a 2 - 4 minute presentation on a topic of their choosing. These early learning experiences can form foundations for development to build educational, and social structures for future success.
