N.C. Cooperative Extension, Pamlico County Center would like to recognize Ms. Kait Neeland, Pamlico 4-H Youth Development Agent, on her recent success in receiving the Search for Excellence Awards for 4-Youth Programing and Overall State Winner for Extension Programming.

The purpose of the Search for Excellence Awards is to promote and identify professional excellence within all facets of North Carolina Cooperative Extension. Ms. Neeland was presented with these awards during the annual Southeast District Extension Winter Professional Development Meeting, which included Dr. Garey Fox (Dean NC State University College of Agricultural and Life Sciences) and representatives of NC A&T University and the North Carolina Grange.

Ms. Neeland has served as the 4-H Youth Development Agent in Pamlico County for seven years, bringing a new perspective to local youth about the world, its cultures, and its people. Ms. Neeland is a lifelong 4-H member, growing up in Currituck County where she and her family participated and served the local 4-H program.

In the letters of support for Ms. Neeland’s award application, supporters recognized “her professionalism and creativity” and the values she provides local youth with “her desire to increase their knowledge and awareness of the world and its cultures”. N.C. Cooperative Extension, Pamlico County Center is proud that Ms. Neeland is part our team and appreciate all the support that local communities, schools, and organizations provide to our 4-H Youth Programs.
