Autumn 4-H Fun
Summer is winding down and many of us are thinking about back to school, new pencils, and thinking about what sports we might like to do. While we had a ton of fun this summer, attending Electric Congress, competing in 4-H District and State Presentations, learning about countries and cultures all around the world with 4-H Book Explorers with the Pamlico County Library, and enjoying a week at sleep away camp, we are very excited for autumn.
Sew Much Fun
Sew Much Fun is also back from our summer break! Last year we began designing our own quilt projects, using geometry and math. We enjoyed watching them not only develop skills in sewing, but to apply math to their creative endeavors. We hope to see them all completed and we are looking forward to starting new exciting projects.
Chopped! International
Chopped! International is also back! Last year we learned about several different countries through food. We learned about Italy, Thailand, Russia, the UK, Morocco, and France. We made scones, stroganoff, Spaghetti Bolognese, and more! Youth practiced safe food preparation, honed their knife skills with different types of chopping, and were also able to learn about the government and languages of the countries whose food we made! We will have three Chopped! International workshops this fall. Each workshop is a separate registration.
